Baked Kale Chips

Crispy healthy kale chips for a vegan or paleo diet.

Crispy dried kale chips are a popular snack these days with the health-conscious crowd. They have a nice crunchy texture and a slightly nutty taste. Packed with nutrients, they are good for you and a tasty vegan snack.

This particular recipe is done with the oven but you can also do a similar type of snack with a dehydrator if you want to do a “raw” bunch at a lower temperature. Feel free to experiment.

  • 1 big bunch of raw kale leaves
  • 1 tbs olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Any other seasoning (garlic, paprika, cayenne)

Heat up the oven to 275F.

Pull the kale apart to remove any tough ribs and stalks. Wash the leaves and blot them dry.

Toss the kale in a bowl with olive oil until they are all lightly coated. Spread your oiled kale out on a baking sheet and give all the leaves a generous sprinkling of whatever seasonings you’re using. Bake for about 20 to 30 minutes, or until dry to a crisp. Let them cool, and enjoy.
